Linking Russian Teachers of Math and Science to American Classrooms

Global Education Connections seeks talented professionals willing to spend at least a year in America.

The shortage of math and science teachers in America's public schools has forced several districts to seek qualified experts from outside the United States. Global Education Connections will screen qualified applicants, locate school districts willing to hire qualified Russian teachers, suggest firms skilled in immigration law, interview and train candidates.

St. Petersburg's Herzen Pedagogical University, The Special Faculty of Philology, has offered classroom space and other support for training prospective candidates during the Summer Institute.

Drs. Victor and Natalia Zinger, who have successfully taught in public schools in Texas and rural Alaska, come with personal knowledge of both cultures and understand the complexities of seeking employment in America. Ms. Bruce, a statewide teacher mentor, administrator, and a 35 year veteran of the classroom, understands the needs of Alaskan districts.

We look forward to hearing from you.
